Dear Members, Dear Friends of the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce,
$55 billion: this is the sum that China will invest into infrastructure projects in neighbouring Pakistan by 2030 to boost the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The aim is to connect Pakistan’s port of Gwadar with Kashgar in China, through a network of highways, railways and pipelines, and to combat Pakistan’s chronic energy shortages by building 21 power plants.
