Bangladesh enjoyed sustained economic growth of over 7 % in the last decade. Its national policies and development strategies acted as catalysts for furthering trade and investment for its development. The government of Bangladesh has been making sustained efforts to promote trade and investment to reach its goal to become an Upper Middle-Income Country by 2031 and a High-Income Country by 2041.
The country has tremendous potential in trade and investment that remains untapped. It offers a well-educated, highly adaptive, and industrious workforce. Moreover, Bangladesh is strategically located in between India, China, and ASEAN markets. Investors in Bangladesh enjoy duty-free access to India along with the EU, Japan, Canada, Australia, China, and other major developed countries.
Bangladesh offers the most liberal FDI regime in South Asia, allowing 100% foreign equity with unrestricted exit policy, remittance of royalty, and repatriation of profits and income. It also offers export-oriented industrial enclaves with infrastructure facilities and logistic support for foreign investors. The government has now focused on developing its core infrastructures through some mega projects in areas such as roads, highways, surface transport, and port facilities to create a business environment which will enable investors to get the best returns.
In this event, high level officials of the government of Bangladesh such as Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority will provide insights into the business and investment opportunities and incentives offered by Bangladesh. Alongside, some of the Swiss investors will share their experiences of doing business in Bangladesh.
The event will facilitate Swiss businesses, who are looking forward to establishing and expanding their business facilities in Bangladesh through export, import and investment. We look forward to having your valued participation.
The webinar is interactive and open to all.
